ABOUT Yogi Baby Forever – THE BOOK
"In lieu of a card, please bring a book for baby..."
…and, that was the moment that
Yogi Baby was born!
It all started with an Eight Limbs of Yoga workshop...
The Eight Limbs of Yoga is a full practice which includes not only asana (the poses) but yoga philosophy, pranayama (breathing patterns), and meditation techniques, as well. My daughter (also a yoga teacher) and I had been preparing to co-teach a program….my mind was on that.
And, learning that I would soon be a Yogi Grammy...
My mind was also on the idea that I would soon experience life as a grandmother, and I was daydreaming about what kinds of new experiences that milestone might offer.
Then, the card for the Gender-Reveal Baby Shower arrived...
On the back of the invitation, was the suggestion to “bring a book for baby,” and it hit me just like that. My pen flowed across my journal pages according to the download I was receiving from the universe as if all of the stars had just aligned. I wrote the first version of Yogi Baby. Just like that.
The Prototype
The first version of Yogi Baby – the book – was a precisely crafted, cut-and-paste, handmade-with-love board book finished just in time for the shower and signed on the back, “Love, Your own Yogi Grammy.”
From that day on, there have been several versions of the story as YB has acquired an important nickname, made new friends, and from the beginning, has been thinking quite deeply about her place in the universe.
Yogi Baby and Friends
Yogi Baby Forever, the first book of the series, features Arieta who tells the story of how she first met YB. Three other friends, which may have the spotlight in future books, are introduced, as well.
